The Joel Palmer House

The cuisine at Dayton’s Joel Palmer House is inspired by the exotic mushrooms and truffles the staff collect themselves to augment the mostly locally-sourced cuisine. Owner and fourth-generation chef Chris Czarnecki says, “Our cooking revolves around wild mushrooms and truffles which we gather ourselves and with friends. We have always endeavored to obtain locally raised ingredients in our cooking, and we use many locally produced greens, herbs, and vegetables, many of which come from our own culinary garden. We frequently draw inspiration from the cuisines of Mexico, China, Thailand, Poland, and India, so we call our cooking, “freestyle”. Of course, we work hard to create dishes that complement the glorious wines of Oregon, especially Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay.” Open Tuesday to Saturday from 5 until 9.

Heater Allen Brewing Co.

They are a small artisan brewery located in McMinnville, Oregon. They specialize in producing distinctive all-malt lager and other German and Czech style beers. They use only the finest, most appropriate malts, hops, water and yeast in their beers. While their lagers are similar to those made in Germany, they are their own unique interpretation of the style. Lager beers are fermented at lower temperatures than ale, using yeast that has adapted to cooler fermentations. Low temperature fermentations create fewer “yeasty” aromas, esters, and flavors that are so common in ales. They brew lagers because we enjoy their smooth malty and hoppy character.

Golden Valley Brewery – McMinnville

Their chef Greg Meixner orchestrates the procurement of fresh, healthy, great tasting foods for you and your family. Everyone knows the rich, fresh and natural taste of their beef but few realize how they do it. They also provide their own craft brews.
