Cedar Teeth embodies Northwest roots rock.
Heartbreak, loss and transformation are more than just themes for Cedar Teeth, a five-piece band out of Colton, a forest town about an hour east of Portland.
Farewell to Green Mountain, the band’s second album scheduled for release in early summer, reflects tackling life’s toughest challenges head-on and emerging stronger in the end.
Vocalist and writer Dylan Martell describes the new album as “a conscious attempt over the past year or so to acknowledge and engage the past and then move forward.”
The plucky band (Martell, Erin Corzine, Rayson Gordon, Luke Precourt and Adam Murray), known for dedication to music and an audience-pleasing stage presence, defines its sound as “Northwest roots rock”—the place where grunge, pop, Americana and the singer-songwriter co-exist.
“When we meet, there won’t be winters,” sings Martell in the album’s powerful lead single, Winter, reflecting not only on loss, but strength, reappraisal and rebirth.
