Meeting global energy needs in a carbon constrained world is driving energy innovation. An abundance of clean and resilient energy is needed to lift nearly 6 billion people out of energy poverty. Oregon State University, an internationally recognized energy innovator, is working on “all-of-the-above” cutting-edge energy solutions that include wind power, wave power, solar power, bio-fuels, and small modular reactors. Working together, these technologies have the potential to change the world. OSU is also garnering attention because of its unique programs to move energy innovations from the lab to the market. OSU students are not only gaining the knowledge and skills needed to be workforce ready; they are also learning to become entrepreneurial leaders as CEOs and CTOs of their own startup companies. One of its greatest entrepreneurial success stories, NuScale Power, is now poised to bring clean energy to the world.

OSU is celebrating its 150th anniversary with a year-long series of events, including four festivals. These festivals recognize that Oregon State is one of only two universities in the U.S. that have been honored with land, sea, space and sun grant designations. This event is part of the OSU150 Land Grant Festival running October 1 through 17. Learning, discovery and service to all people will always drive us to make our world better. Learn more at
