En Route: Alternative Travel in Portland

Portlanders tend to move about the city the same way they do everything— alternatively. The chilly yet mild winters of northwestern Oregon require only a few more, perhaps waterproof, layers. Portland photographer Kate Daigneault took to the streets and bridges to capture those moving about the city sans automobile—an ode to the cold-weather commuters.
