Oregon Architecture: New Wine-Tasting Rooms

New Wine-tasting Rooms Open up Around Oregon

Lange estate winery

At Lange Estate Winery & Vineyards in the Dundee hills, the 30-year-old winery will open a Grand Tasting Hall in May. The facility will increase the space available for tastings, as well as offer a chef’s kitchen and space for the wine production to expand. It’s a long way from when the winery’s original tasting room opened in the basement of the owners’ home in 1987. A soft opening is currently underway with tastings offered every day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Farther afield, Willamette Wineworks is expected to open a wine shop in the historic district of Folsom, California. The grand opening of the building, called the Roundhouse, is likely to take place this fall. Willamette Wineworks’ shop, an extension of Willamette Valley Vineyards, will include food and wine pairings and is expected to feature a “unique hands-on wine-blending experience,” according to a press release.
