Hair of the Dog Brewing Company was founded in November of 1993 with the purpose of providing beer lovers with new and unusual beer styles. Creativity and originality have been cornerstones of the company’s philosophy since it was founded. Hair of Dog is proud to be one of the first breweries in America specializing in the production of high alcohol, bottle conditioned beers as well as experimenting with the barrel aging process since 1994. Currently, the brewery has 180 oak barrels used to age Beer from 6 months to 8 years. They use new oak as well as previously filled spirit and wine barrels. All the Beer is made by two Brewers, Jesse Shue and Alan Sprints. Green Dragon (Rogue Ales)

Named one of the 100 Best Places to Drink Beer in America, features 62 taps that serve an eclectic mix of craft beer from across the country. Located on 9th and Yamhill in Portland’s inner east side, the Green Dragon will also feature Aloha Tuesday, Sunday Pajama Brunch, Hoppy Meals, Bathroom Tours, Meet the Brewer nights, and a beer-infused menu.

Full Sail Brewing Co. – Riverplace

Smack dab in the heart of Beervana, (also known as Portland) their Riverplace brewery is located on the waterfront. You can catch a glimpse of their Riverplace Brewery in action through the wall of glass at McCormick & Schmicks’s Harborside Restaurant. This pint-sized brewhouse serves as their research and development center and is where the small batch Brewmaster Reserve and Brewer’s Share beers are concocted. You can sample their entire line of award winning brews next door.

Fire on the Mountain Brewery

On the first day of 2005, the first customers walked through the doors of Fire on the Mountain Buffalo Wings. In the early days, there were just a couple cooks and Sara and Jordan were the only front of house staff. Fast forward to 2011 where Fire on the Mountain Buffalo Wings has become a Portland institution with three restaurants and close to 100 employees. FOTM still possesses the same passion to provide customers with a fun, easygoing restaurant to enjoy our delicious food and great service.

Hopworks Urban Brewery

  Hopworks Urban Brewery (HUB) and Hopworks BikeBar are Portland’s first eco-brewpubs. Each pub offers handcrafted organic beers and a menu featuring fresh, local ingredients, all served in sustainably built and operated buildings with a relaxed, casual atmosphere. Hopworks’ twenty-barrel brewery produces 8,500 barrels of beer a year for its brewpubs and distribution in Oregon, Washington and British Columbia.  

Max’s Fanno Creek – Brew Pub

They have created a comfortable gathering place for the community. The pub is a comfortable and interesting place – family oriented and child friendly. All of their beers on tap have been brewed in their showpiece 10bbl JVNW brewing system. There is also a full bar, wine and some beer in the bottle. Their special bar was built from old growth crow’s foot hemlock, approximately 600 years of age, which was at the bottom of the Columbia River for 200 years, before it was salvaged and then made into a bar by a master shipwright. It is trimmed in purple heart, a hardwood from South America.

Mac Tarnahan’s Brewing Co. – Taproom

At the Taproom, choice reigns supreme. With over 12 beers on draft including their year round, seasonal and alehouse exclusive styles you’ll find just the brew to match your mood. If you’re having a tough time choosing, might they suggest their sampler tray featuring 5 of their most popular styles. Compliment your brew with a tasty selection off of their full menu of classic Brew House Cuisine including Kettle-Brewed Soups, Apple Wood Grilled Plates and Rotisserie Dishes. MacTarnahan’s Taproom is just a few miles from downtown Portland in the industrial NW where there is plenty of parking. This space is both a brewery and a gathering place that’s become a Rose City landmark.
