Portland Dining Month has transformed the Oregon foodie scene

written by Jen Stevenson

As though deciding where to eat on date night weren’t hard enough, the ninth annual Portland Dining Month kicks off March 1, with more than 100 local restaurants vying for your prix fixe predilections. All month, top tables like St. Jack, Little Bird and Ataula will offer beautiful and budget-friendly $29 three-course tasting menus. It’s an excellent excuse to hit up that hotspot you’ve had on your must-eats list for far too long, or the nudge you needed to try something new (just close your eyes, point to the list, and go). After all, when else are you going to feast on steamed manila clams with sherry and guanciale, pan-seared Tasmanian sea trout and coconut tapioca with mango sorbet and caramel crémeux at Aviary on a Tuesday night, for under $30? To start plotting your big March dining dash, find all pertinent information and mouthwatering menus on Travel Portland’s website. As an added bonus, every time you book through one of its OpenTable links, Portland Dining Month will make a donation to the Oregon Food Bank.
