Christmas Treasures is a quirky highway store that goes unseen by the hurried driver. Painted in bright red and forest green (naturally), this little house-turned-gift shop transports you into a season of child-like happiness. Walk through its doors in March, August or even December, and you’ll find the same scene: instrumental Christmas music, the scent of pine and cinnamon wafting toward you and more holiday knickknacks than you ever knew existed. Hundreds of ornaments, nutcrackers, Russian dolls and tiny Christmas village sets spread across three rooms of what was once home to the owners. Patrick Dibala and Nancy Wood moved from Florida to Blue River and started Christmas Treasures. “We bring items in from all over, but we try to get things that people can’t get at another store or on Amazon,” Wood said. While the store sells a number of products through its website, the true Christmas experience involves making the stop on Highway 126.
