The Mustard Seed Café in Jacksonville has more pennies than the town has people. Jeannie Inman, owner of the café since 2010, got the idea for a floor made of pennies from a contractor. Inman collected coins from local banks, and as word of the project spread, donations started pouring in, especially from her loyal base of local customers. “They brought them in jars, baggies and even socks,” Inman said. It took about 120,000 pennies to cover 400 square feet of the café. All those pennies add up to about $1,200, but the result is priceless.
