Meant MFG
Based on the Central Oregon Coast, Meant MFG is dedicated to making mixed media handmade bags with local materials. A variety of patterns and colors are available—you can order a custom-made bag and choose your own color and style. We think that’s pretty cool. Pendleton fabrics are paired with locally sourced leather and textiles. You are going to love these!
Kells St. Patrick’s Irish Festival
A St. Patty’s Portland tradition for a good reason, The Kells Irish Fest has traditional Irish dancing and bagpipes, live music and a variety of Irish brews. Both locations have a long list of festivities to enjoy. The event runs from March 16 to March 18 and most of the activities are for adults, but Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. includes a family event with an opportunity to meet friendly Irish wolfhounds and play a little soccer.
Sakari Botanicals
This company crafts Incredible teas, lip balms and bath salts. What makes Sakari Botanicals extra special? It’s a female-owned, tribal-owned food and healing business working under the Central Oregon Seed Exchange. All plants are produced with organic or native seed and hand-collected and foraged at the on-site nursery and private lavender farm in Central Oregon. Put the smoked nasturtium culinary salt and lavender-calendula cream on your list.
McMenamins Irish Whiskey Dinner
Whiskey-paired meal, anyone? McMenamins is holding a multi-course dinner centered on whiskey March 9 at the Old St. Francis School in Bend. The event, hosted by spirits educator Hoke Harden, will feature six varieties of Irish whiskey paired with courses crafted by Executive Chef Matt Schumaker-Meyers.
Portland Cider Co.
The Portland Cider Co. has been around since 2012, made from 100 percent Northwest apples. Known for blending the perfect Pacific Northwest cider with the dryness of traditional English cider, this easy-to-sip beverage can be sampled at taprooms on SE Hawthorne Boulevard in Portland or in Clackamas. The company has created a new seasonal flavor, Concord Grape—essentially an adult version of your favorite childhood juice box. The flavor is available through April in 22-ounce bottles and in kegs.
