Banff Mountain Film Festival | Various Locations | February 6-13

Nonprofit Adventures Without Limits will host the Banff Mountain Film Festival at Cinema 21 Theater and Revolution Hall in Portland, and at the Grand Theater in Salem. Each night will feature a different film about outdoor recreation. Tickets are $20 at the door and proceeds benefit Adventures Without Limits.

The Northwest Film Center exhibits 100 feature films and more than sixty short films from around the globe during this annual film festival. Films are presented at various theaters around Portland, drawing an audience of more than 40,000 viewers each year.

Oregon Winterfest | Bend | February 17-19

Celebrate one of Central Oregon‘s snowiest seasons at Oregon Winterfest, held in the Old Mill District and the Les Schwab Amphitheater. Along with live music and an adventure obstacle run, the festival includes live ice sculpting and a fire pit competition. And, of course, beer from 10 Barrel Brewing.

Newport Seafood & Wine Fest | Newport | February 23-26

Consume your fill of fresh seafood and local wines at the Newport Seafood & Wine Fest. Drawing more than 25,000 visitors each year, the festival includes seafood tastings, special multi-course dinners designed by local chefs, art showings and a wine competition showcasing more than 150 wines. Tickets range from $8-$22 per day, or $40 for a three-day pass.

Hungry Planet Exhibit | Eugene | February 24-July 30

Step onto the University of Oregon campus in Eugene for a global perspective on food at the Museum of Natural and Cultural History. The ongoing exhibit showcases photographs, writing and artifacts that offer insight into how different countries around the world make, share and eat their meals.

Polar Plunge | Portland | February 25

Watch good Samaritans flirt with hypothermia in the frigid Columbia along Broughton Beach, all in the name of charity. Plungers compete to raise the most money, with proceeds going to Special Olympics Oregon. Not a Portlander? Check out other Polar Plunge locations in Bend, Eugene, Corvallis and Medford. Register for $50 or watch for free from the warmth of the shore, and stay for the afterparty with live music and food.
