Professional and amateur birders flock to Charleston for the annual Shorebird Festival, now in its thirtieth year. Birders participate in activities and events throughout the weekend to hone their skills and for the chance to spot hard-to-find birds migrating south for winter.

Feast Portland brings in chefs, brewers, winemakers and mixologists from all over the world for this annual event in downtown Portland. Attend tastings, hands-on classes and special dinners at Portland’s top-notch restaurants, all while donating to fight childhood hunger.
Ride-Row-Run | Maupin | September 18
Ride-Row-Run takes a new spin on a traditional triathlon. In a relay or as a team, cycle 26 miles in the high desert before paddling on the Deschutes River for 3 miles, and then running 4 miles to the finish line. Party to follow at the Imperial Hotel in Maupin.
