Portland Oregon Women’s Film Festival | March 2-5 | Portland
During Women’s History Month, the Portland Oregon Women’s Film Festival celebrates media-making women at the Hollywood Theatre, March 2-5. The four-day festival features more than fifty films, with panels and Q&As held by inspiring women in the business of filmmaking.
Parting Shots Exhibit | Opens March 3 | Portland
From 1938-1942, photographer Minor White was tasked with capturing Portland’s historic architecture—buildings that were soon to be demolished and replaced. View his images of what Portland once was at the Parting Shots: Minor White’s Images of Portland, 1938 – 1942 exhibit at the Architectural Heritage Center in Portland, beginning March 3.
Snow Blast! | March 4 | North Powder
Head to Anthony Lake Mountain Resort in North Powder for a family-friendly winter festival from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Expect skiing and snowboarding races, an outdoor barbecue around a campfire and fireworks after dark.
Mud Fest | March 4 | Sweet Home
Rev up your four-wheel-drive vehicle for Mud Fest, a day to play in a muddy free-for-all. This family event invites the community and beyond to enjoy some dirty, messy entertainment. The show starts at 9 a.m. and tickets are $40 each.
A Wee Bit O’Ireland | March 16-19 | Heppner
The Irish heritage town of Heppner offers caed mile failte (Gaelic for “one thousand welcomes”) to its 35th annual St. Patrick’s celebration, A Wee Bit O’Ireland. Devour Irish food, enjoy local entertainment and enter to win a $100 Pot O’ Gold.
Kells Saint Patrick’s Day Festival | March 17-19 | Portland
Join Portland’s largest St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Kells’ pub locations around Portland. In its 26th year, the event draws thousands of visitors for traditional Irish dancing, live music and, of course, Irish food and beer. Stick around for the “black tie smoker,” a boxing event between Golden Glove boxers from Ireland and amateur fighter from the United States.
Cider Rite of Spring | March 25 | Portland
The Northwest cider industry is blooming; celebrate the variety of new, local ciders at the Cider Rite of Spring at the Evergreen PDX in Southeast Portland. General admission pricing is $25, which includes a branded tasting glass and cider tastings. Food options and pop-up retail stores will also be available onsite.
Festival of Illusions | March 26-April 4 | Lincoln City
This spring, Lincoln City hosts the sixth annual Festival of Illusions, a showcase of magicians, clowns, dancing and other wacky acts. Performances by America’s Funniest Cowgirl and The Amazing Bubble Man are paired with art shows and more for ten days of fun at the Lincoln City Cultural Center.
