Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival | March 24-April 30 | Woodburn
Gallop through a sea of spring at annual the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn. Bring your family to view the largest display of colorful tulips in Oregon (40 acres of them, to be exact). Admission is $5, and food from Mt. Angel Sausage and train rides can also be purchased upon admission.
Eugene Saturday Market | Every Saturday | Eugene
The return of spring means the return of Oregon farmers markets! Eugene’s vibrant Saturday Farmer’s Market brings live music, local produce and artisanal goods to downtown every Saturday, beginning on April 1. Prepare for large crowds, amazing food trucks and lots of tie-dye.
Ashland Independent Film Festival | April 6-10 | Ashland
The Ashland Independent Film Festival is the largest of its kind in Southern Oregon, hosting screenings, forums and gatherings. Film screenings are held at the art-deco Varsity Theatre, with additional events at the Historic Ashland Armory, Ashland Springs Hotel and Ashland Street Cinemas. Admission to each film is $13 for non-members.
Gorge Artists Open Studios Tour | April 28-30 | Columbia River Gorge
Tour artists’ studios throughout the Columbia River Gorge, from Cascade Locks to The Dalles, during the last weekend of April. Painters, jewelers, photographers and more will display their best work to be juried. The tour is free and self-guided, with maps of participating locations available online.
Wulapalooza | April 29 | Salem
Willamette University’s annual Earth Day Festival is much beloved by college students and the community alike, with student groups, clubs and activities showcased during the day and a lively concert at night featuring a lineup of local performers. Rain or shine, this event takes place outside on the university campus and admission is free for all.
Oregon Ag Fest | April 29-30 | Salem
A family-focused event, this festival offers more than twenty-five hands-on activities for kids and parents alike at the Oregon State Fairgrounds. Visit the petting zoo, stroll through the garden show and enjoy a ranch breakfast. Admission is $9 or free for children under 13 years of age.
