Join us as Michael Sims talks about Peter Giddings’ 1947 Alfa Romeo 158D “Alfetta” on display now in the galleries. In 1954 Mike Sims moved out to Fontana, California with the promise of free college, and found not only a great career in aerospace, but also a lifelong passion in racing. Years and many So Cal dragstrip races later, Sims went on to become road crew for Peter Giddings Racing. For the next 30 years, he worked on Maseratis, Bugattis, Ferraris, and Alfa Romeos. Sims will detail the history behind how this particular “Alfetta” came to be built and give us all one last chance to see it before it is exhibited at the next Formula 1 race and then eventually on to Europe.
