Nevada-based artist Jayna Conkey’s photographic series “Withdrawn” documents mutilated library books from around the country, transforming their pages into new, multi-layered images. The resulting photographs of these anonymous interventions embody the twin responses of censorship and voyeurism. Having originated at the Multnomah County Library, the series comes full circle to exhibit in Portland for the first time. 

Opening reception on Friday, 2/1, 5-9 pm.
