Departure Hosts Portland Cocktail Showcase to kick off the summer!

Six restaurants come together this Memorial Day to support Portland-area farms and prove the kitchen isn’t the only place for fresh, local ingredients.

On Monday, May 28, Portland’s modern Asian restaurant and lounge, Departure (525 SW Morrison St.), hosts its first-ever Farm-to-Shaker Cocktail Showcase, bringing together bartenders from around the city to meet local farmers, support local produce sourcing, and raise awareness around the social responsibility of sustainability, zero waste, and knowing where product comes from behind the bar. Join us at 5 p.m., to raise a glass to the start of summer, while six bartenders showcase original cocktails utilizing fresh ingredients from Portland-area farms including Viridian Farms, Zenger Farms, and Side Yard Farm. In addition to Departure’s bar team, participating restaurants include Urban Farmer, Palomar, Tusk, Multnomah Whisky Library, and Les Caves. Guests visiting Departure during the Farm-to-Shaker Cocktail Showcase receive one free beverage and have the option to purchase additional drink tickets to test out the bartenders’ specialty concoctions. The night continues with an after-party at 7 p.m., inviting the bartenders to relax and mingle with guests.
