The Africa Trade & Investment Global Summit (ATIGS) is a unique high-level, prestigious, biennial business platform designed specifically to promote and facilitate international trade and foreign direct investment in Africa, with attendance projection of over 2,000 participants from more than 70 countries for a three day of networking, markets knowledge sharing, marketing & matchmaking, B2B, G2B, G2G meetings & deal making.

 

The 2018 edition of the Africa Trade & Investment Global Summit (ATIGS) conference and trade show is scheduled to be held in Washington D.C on June 24-26, 2018. ATIGS brings together Global investors with interest in Africa, companies looking to expand or establish their business operation in Africa, companies from Africa sourcing for international partners, high-level government officials, trade promotional organizations (TPOs) and investment promotion agencies (IPAs) from various African countries. The event will see the participation of more than 150 speakers, exhibitors, trade promotional organizations and investment promotion agencies from various African countries, and over 350 global investors including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, private equity and asset management firms.

 

ATIGS 2018’s theme is “Driving Trade, Unleashing Investment and Enhancing Economic Development”. The theme of ATIGS is aligned with two of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): (SDG 17 & SDG 8) and “The Gateway to African Markets” as ATIGS 2018’s sub-theme. ATIGS 2018 is designed to contribute to AGOA, Trade Africa, World Trade Organization’s Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA), SDGs Agenda 2030 and AU Agenda 2063. The event will consist of 13 co-located events under the umbrella of World Business Week on Africa powered by Africa Trade & Investment Global Summit. The side-events include Electrify Africa Forum, US-Africa Manufacturing Forum, EU-Africa International Business Congress, Africa-China Economic Forum, UAE-Africa Business Forum, & more. There will also be an ATIGS Awards ceremony on June 26, 2018.

 

ATIGS provides access to African markets at a one-stop shop, and connect global Investors to Africa market. Participants can experience a comprehensive display of companies around the world, high-level government officials, business leaders, global investors, trade & investment agencies from various Africa nations under one roof.  It is a highly focused gathering of Africa-global business activities, and program will focus on 16 sectors and will cover key economic sectors particularly manufacturing, agribusiness, power, construction, transportation, IT, tourism, telecoms, and finance, retail, health, and natural resources sectors.
